22,500 Israeli extremist settlers storm Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Oct.10 (Petra)-- About 22,500 Israeli extremist settlers late Monday and Tuesday stormed the West Bank city of Hebron and al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the old city, according to a Palestinian official source.

Head of al-Waqf in Hebron Ismail Abu Halawa said in a statement that Israeli Occupation forces opened the mosque only for Jews while banned Muslims from praying in it, noting that the ban will continue today as settlers will remain in the city to mark their Jewish holidays.

Meanwhile around 1,000 settlers broke into an Islamic site in the West Bank under the protection of the occupation army to visit what they call graves of their forefathers according to their religious beliefs.
