Oman- MoE signs agreement with Cambridge University


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Education (MoE) has signed an agreement with the Cambridge University Printing House to develop science and mathematics curricula. H E Dr Hamoud al Harthi, Undersecretary for Education and Curriculum, MoE and Peter Phillips, executive director of Cambridge University Printing House have signed the agreement.

The signing of this agreement is part of the ministry's strategy to develop educational system in both human and material fields. The agreement will help education system in the sultanate keep pace with scientific and technical development in the world.

It also aims to train teachers, supervisors and specialists in these two subjects by developing the teaching curriculum methods in order to provide students with the scientific knowledge, practical skills and methods that will help them be innovative.

It will also enable students to compete in various international forums and competitions, and qualify them to enter the local and international labour markets. MoE is seeking best ways to develop school curricula in general and the curricula of science and mathematics in particular.

Its main aim is to benefit from the experiences of leading countries in both scientific and technical fields that rely on the application of global chains in science and mathematics according to the international standards and Cambridge International Exams (CIE).
