MENA aims USD1tr energy investments in 5 years


(MENAFN) Whole energy investments in the MENA region will reach USD1tr mark in the coming five years with the GCC nations spearheading the increase.

However, global investments in the industry continued their fall in 2016, down by 24 percent as compared to 2015; the MENA region will see an increase of 7 percent in energy investment.

In addition, Apicorop pointed out that a total of USD337bn had been committed to projects under execution at the end of the previous year.

With an extra USD622bn worth of developments in the planning stage, the committed and planned investment could add more than USD959bn over a five-year period.
