Jordan- Cold conditions forecast over next two days


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan.21(Petra) -- Relatively cold conditions are expected to continue in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and the eastern plains, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), winds will be northwesterly moderate with clouds at low altitudes and a chance of scattered showers in the northern and central parts of the country. Frost formation is also expected after midnight in the hilly areas and parts of the desert regions, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in most parts of the Kingdom will reach 13 degrees Celsius, dropping to 2 degrees in the northern and southern parts, while it will register 1 degree below zero in the southern governorates. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will reach 22 degrees, going down to 10 at night.

Temperatures will slightly rise over the next two days, but similar cold conditions are expected to remain with high altitude clouds and south easterly light to moderate winds, it added.
