Apple Watch sales record high in holiday week in US

(MENAFN) Apple Inc. Chief Executive, Tim Cook confirmed to Reuters that sales of Apple Watch set record high during the first week of holiday shopping, as the current quarter is on track to be the best ever for the product.

His comment followed a report from technology research firm IDC forecasting the tech giant to sell 1.1 million units of the Apple Watch during Q3 of 2016, down 71% from the same quarter of previous year.

In addition, he said: "Sales growth is off the charts. In fact, during the first week of holiday shopping, our sell-through of Apple Watch was greater than any week in the product"s history. And as we expected, we"re on track for the best quarter ever for Apple Watch."

However, Apple released few details about its Apple Watch performance, the first product released under Cook.
