Morocco- Princess Lalla Meryem Attends Reception After Wedding of Prince Leka II of Albania


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Princess Lalla Meryem on Sunday attended in Tirana in a reception hosted by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on the occasion of the wedding of Prince Leka II of Albania and Elia Zaharia.

Princess Lalla Meryem, who signed the Golden Book on this occasion, was accompanied by Morocco's ambassador to Italy, Hassan Abouyoub, and the Kingdom's Honorary Consul in Tirana, Bujar Lybesha.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the royal couple and several members of royal families from European and Mediterranean countries.

On Saturday, Princess Lalla Meryem took part in the wedding of Prince Leka II of Albania and Elia Zaharia, celebrated in the former Royal Palace of the Albanian capital.

Following the ceremony, Princess Lalla Meryem took part in an official dinner hosted in honor of the guests.

Prince Leka II is the grandson of King Zog I, who ruled the country for ten years from 1928 until 1939. King Zog 1 was forced into exile following the Italian invasion in 1939.

The Albanian royal family returned to Tirana in 2002.
