Jordan- Deputizing for King Prince Faisal attends Israa wal Miraj celebration


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman May 5 (Petra)--Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein on Thursday attended a grant religious ceremony held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at King Abdullah I Mosque on the occasion of Al Isr Wal Miraj the Prophet Mohammad's nocturnal journey to heaven.

In remarks during the ceremony Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Daoud highlighted the great meaning and the religious and historical importance of this occasion as well as the lessons learned from this miracle and the sacrifices of Prophet Mohammad.

At the ceremony which was attended by a number top civil and military officials as well as ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries the minister also praised the Hashemite's efforts to protect and defend the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He pointed to the Hashemites' role in preserving the Islamic identity of the holy city and their efforts to support Palestinians and prevent Israeli attempts to Judaise the city.
