NMC participates in Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

ABU DHABI 24th April 2016 (WAM) -- The National media Council NMC is participating in the Abu Dhabi International book Fair with an interactive pavilion featuring a diverse range of activities and events.

The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is being held from 27th April until the 5th of May at the Abu Dhabi National exhibition Centre ADNEC. The NMC's participation comes as part of President His Highness sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's initiative to declare 2016 as the Year of Reading.

Mansour Al Mansouri Acting Director-General of the NMC said "The council's participation at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair for the first time aims to make 2016 as the Year of Reading Initiative a great success. The initiative was launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is supported by directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to make reading a daily behaviour and lifestyle.

Mr. Al-Mansouri added "Out of NMC's belief in the importance of future generation the council's programme at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair includes a number of reading sessions for children in order to motivate and encourage them to educate themselves through reading routinely and continuously."
