(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dr anwar mohammed gargash minister of state for foreign affairs has tweeted that ?egyptians and brothers and friends of egypt? are ?entirely convinced? of the credibility and legitimacy of egypt?s presidential election that was held recently.
he called the muslim brotherhood and its supporters “liars”.
gargash posted these tweets after egypt’s former military chief abdel fatah al sisi secured a crushing victory over his sole opponent in the country’s presidential election.
“the egyptian people have given their verdict and selected their president” he tweeted.
he said the people’s mandate is very clear: revive the egyptian economy create opportunities and boost the country’s development and growth. “it is very obvious that the political path in egypt is making progress with confident steps ... the regime’s legitimacy has been reinforced by the elections ... egypt has to pass the test in enhancing the living conditions and economy.”
gargash said the political course in egypt would neither be easy nor clear. “challenges are multi-fold and expectations are high but the moment we are living in right now has become the greatest hope of the last three years.
“we have to place our arab and fraternal feelings above any other consideration.
“egypt and its people are dear to us” he concluded.
