Saudi- 700000 Captagon pills seized at Jeddah Port


(MENAFN- Arab News) E saudi customs authorities have seized 700000 captagon stimulant pills concealed inside sofas in jeddah the largest haul of its kind so far.'the customs inspectors were suspicious of a large consignment of furniture at the jeddah islamic port. following inspections they discovered 700000 captagon pills hidden inside the furniture" mohammed abdullah al-dakheel director general of jeddah islamic port said in a statement issued on tuesday.he said that the pills were placed very neatly inside the sofas and were difficult to detect but the sleuths were able to find them in a systematic operation.the customs official reiterated that saudi customs is well equipped and able to detect smuggling activities at the entry points of the kingdom and that it will foil every attempt of drug smugglers to destroy the future of the youth.over 65 percent of the drug addicts who receive detoxification treatment at al-amal hospitals in jeddah dammam and riyadh are captagon addicts.
