Qatar- Online initiatives for businessmen launched


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Ministry of Economy and Commerce yesterday announced online service for businessmen and consumers. The initiative will allow businessmen to get various services online like filing application to set up companies, getting licences and commercial registration while consumers will be able to get information about prices of commodities. "We gathered here to know the new initiatives of the ministry to meet the requirements of business community. Business community is doing great work and our role as a ministry is to keep pace with the growth but we have to do more so that businessman can get maximum benefit," said H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, the Minister of Economy and Trade, addressing the businessmen and traders in a workshop organised by the Minister of Economy and Commerce. "A workshop will be organised immediately after the launch of these services to train the beneficiaries," he said. The new initiative will save time and efforts of business and traders they will be able to get approvals online and if their application is rejected they will be informed within one hour of submission of application. Currently it takes about three days to get approvals. ariq Al Sada from public relation department in his presentation said that the launch of new online services aim to simplify the procedures and save time. Mashail Al Hammadi, the director of IT department in the ministry said that the initiative would make it easy for businessmen to register their enquiries and complaints. He said that an internal committee was formed for this project and gradually it will be expanded to include representatives from other government bodies.
