(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A fashion designer who also owns a boutique in Khar, a western Mumbai suburb, and in Dubai, was arrested on Tuesday, about 10 days after a victim accused her of trying to force her into prostitution
According to the police, the victim filed a complaint against the boutique owner last month, about six months after returning to India from Dubai
She said that the accused, a 27-year-old woman, had promised her a job as a manager at her Dubai boutique last year
After she reached Dubai in June, her passport was taken away and she was confined to an apartment. Over the next three weeks, she was raped by several men, who had been sent to her as clients, the victim said in her complaint
Finally, she was allowed to return to Mumbai in July
The victim said she was scared after returning and did not take any action against the accused
It was only in January that she decided to file a complaint against the fashion designer
