Dubai plans to launch international Halal food center


(MENAFN) Dubai is planning to launch an international accreditation center for Halal food as part of its push to become the capital for the Islamic economy, Arabian Business reported. The director general of Dubai Municipality announced that a team, led by the assistant director general of the Health, Safety & Environment Monitoring Sector, has been formed to set up the center. "The proposed center will undertake required tests for Halal food and other products to ensure that all such products are free from any chemical or artificial additions which are not complying with the Islamic Law, with the aim to be the first international reference in the food industry worldwide," the director general said.
