Sybiha Announces New Chapter In Ukrainian-Hungarian Relations
Sybiha thanked the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union for its leadership in advancing Ukraine's EU accession process, as well as all EU member states, the European Commission, and EU institutions for their unwavering support.
"I also appreciate Hungary's constructive engagement. We are opening a new chapter in Ukraine-Hungary relations - one built on mutual respect, trust, and our shared European future," the minister wrote.
Read also: Hungary lifts block on Ukraine arms reimbursements – PoliticAs Ukrinform previously reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar stated that a comprehensive agreement had been reached with Ukraine on expanding the linguistic, educational, cultural, and political rights of the Hungarian minority, which numbers around 100,000 people.
The announcement comes amid progress in Ukraine's European Union accession process and follows reports that Hungary is prepared to support the opening of the first cluster of EU membership negotiations with Ukraine.
