Macron To Discuss Support For Ukraine With Magyar
“Support for Ukraine will, of course, be at the center of our discussion – following the recent unblocking of a €90 billion loan for Ukraine and the adoption of the 20th sanctions package against Russia,” the French President said.
He thanked the Hungarian Prime Minister for his“clarity, spirit of cooperation, and engagement,” and stressed that Europe must continue to increase pressure on Russia.
“We must continue to pressure Russia's war machine and fight sanctions evasion and the shadow fleet,” Macron said.
According to Macron, the meeting will also address negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
“We will also discuss the resumption of a normal negotiation process on Ukraine's EU accession – in line with the principle of merit-based progress,” he said.
