Abandoned Fishing Nets Removed

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Marine Protection Department has carried out a field inspection campaign in Eraida area, where several marine environmental violations were detected and removed.

These included abandoned fishing nets that were found in breach of approved environmental regulations and requirements. The ministry took the necessary legal and administrative actions in accordance with Law No. 4 of 1983 on the Exploitation and Conservation of Living Aquatic Resources, reinforcing compliance with regulations governing marine activities and supporting the protection of ecological balance and biodiversity.

The campaign is part of the regular monitoring and inspection programs implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change through its Marine Protection Department to detect violations and reduce harmful practices that may threaten marine life and natural habitats, thereby contributing to the sustainability of marine resources.

The ministry further reaffirmed its continued field and regulatory efforts to protect wildlife and marine environments, and urged the public to cooperate by reporting any activities that could harm natural resources or wildlife.
