Russia Reports Large-Scale Interception of Ukrainian Drones, Missiles


(MENAFN) According to reports, Russian air defense forces have shot down 1,045 Ukrainian drones over a 24-hour period, along with a Neptune-MD guided missile and a Flamingo cruise missile, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry also said Russian forces carried out strikes targeting drone assembly facilities, temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian military units, and foreign fighters operating alongside Ukrainian forces, according to reports.

Earlier the same day, the ministry stated that 556 fixed-wing drones had been intercepted overnight.

According to reports, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that more than 120 drones were downed over the capital during the same 24-hour period, which was described as the largest drone assault on Moscow in over a year.
