The former President inaugurated the student housing facility in the presence of distinguished guests from Ashoka University, including Ashish Dhawan, Founding Chairperson, Board of Trustees; Rudrangshu Mukherjee, Chancellor; Somak Raychaudhury, Vice-Chancellor; senior university leadership and faculty members. The visit also included the planting of Rudraksha trees by Smt. Savita Kovind and Shri Ram Nath Kovind, followed by a campus tour showcasing Ash’ka University’s vast research and digital resources, including the HDFC Library and Archives of Contemporary India.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ram ’ath Kovind, Hon’ble 14th President of India, said, “I have visited several educational institutions across the country, and I must say that Ashoka University stands out among the finest for its vision and world-class infrastructure. As India works towards expanding access to quality education, it is equally important to nurture strong values and a deep sense of responsibility among the younger generation. I see these values strongly reflected in the leadership and ethos of this institution, and I am confident that, with continued efforts, Ashoka University will play a significant role in shaping not only capable individuals, but also responsible citizens for the future.”
The newly inaugurated student housing facility is a part of the Universi’y’s long-term vision to strengthen its fully residential campus ecosystem and support its growing student community of over 3,000 students. Over the last 12 years, Ashoka University has emerged as a globally recognised institution known for academic excellence, interdisciplinary education, research, and leadership development. Last year, the university also made its debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026, marking a significant milestone in its global journey.
