Jennifer Loudon Moxen
- PhD Candidate, COPD Inflammation, University of the West of Scotland
I am currently doing my PhD in Immunology at the University of the West of Scotland, where my work focuses on Protease-Activated Receptor-2 (PAR2) as a novel therapeutic target in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). My research aims to better understand inflammatory signalling pathways in the lung and their potential for translational therapeutic development.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Immunology and Microbiology from the University of Strathclyde. My undergraduate dissertation investigated the effects of mTOR inhibitors in pulmonary arterial hypertension and cancer, strengthening my interest in immune signalling, chronic disease, and targeted therapies.
I combine a strong research background with skills in scientific communication and writing, with a focus on translating complex data and concepts into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences. My experience includes interpreting experimental data, analysing cytokine responses, and presenting findings in written and visual formats.
Through my research, I have developed the ability to manage complex projects, work independently, and communicate scientific findings clearly and accurately while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.
