Dr Xiujian Peng is a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS) at Victoria University (VU). Before joining VU, she held positions as Senior Research Associate at the University of Adelaide and Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Population Research, Renmin University of China. She got her PhD degree from Monash University and her Master degree and Bachelor degree in Economics at Renmin University of China.

Dr. Peng has extensive experience in the development and application of large-scale computable general equilibrium (CGE) models. She has published widely in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Peng is responsible for the CoPS research on China economy. She has led and completed many research projects which cover various economic issues in China. Major projects which have involved policy analysis and advice to government agencies including

.development of pension module and modelling the economic impacts of population ageing and its policy response

.Development of labour market module and investigation of internal migration and labour market reform in China for the China-Australia Governor program

.development of climate change modelling for China's carbon emission trading scheme

.simulation of the implications of China's hydro power development for its energy security

.modelling the implications of China's changing growth pattern for natural gas demand

.development of China energy model and stimulating the economy implications of China's carbon neutrality path
