Israeli Settlers Assault Palestinian Man, Torch Vehicles in West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli settlers launched a violent attack on a Palestinian civilian Friday in the West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources, in the latest episode of escalating settler violence across the occupied territory.

Settlers from the illegal Susiya settlement targeted Ahmad Nasser Arabed al-Dajajneh in the Wadi al-Rakhim neighborhood, assaulting him before setting fire to his personal vehicle and an excavator, sources told media.

The assault is part of a broader and intensifying pattern of settler aggression against Palestinian communities across southern Hebron, where attacks on villages and residential areas have surged in recent months.

Across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, conditions have deteriorated sharply, with Israeli military operations ramping up to include large-scale raids, mass arrests, live ammunition deployment, and what observers describe as disproportionate force — compounded by relentless settler violence targeting Palestinian civilians and their property.

The scale of the settler presence underscores the structural backdrop to such attacks: approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers now reside across 141 illegal settlements and 224 unauthorized outposts throughout the West Bank — among them roughly 250,000 in occupied East Jerusalem, a territory the United Nations classifies as part of the occupied Palestinian lands.
