Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Stresses Effective Use Of Tribal Welfare Funds
The two-day workshop has brought together senior officials, policymakers and subject experts to deliberate on improving the planning, execution and monitoring of schemes aimed at the overall development of tribal communities in the state.
Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop organised by the state's Tribal Welfare Department, the Chief Minister said that a large tribal population resides in Madhya Pradesh, making their development a key responsibility of the government.
“A substantial portion of the country's tribal population resides in our state. We are continuously working to ensure their all-round development,” CM Yadav said, addressing the gathering.
Focusing on implementation, Chief Minister Yadav stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in public spending.
“Ensuring the effective utilisation of the budget allocated for the tribal community is the government's responsibility. Funds should be used in a transparent and time-bound manner so that benefits reach the actual beneficiaries,” he added.
He further noted that the workshop would help in preparing practical strategies for the social, economic and educational upliftment of tribal communities. Discussions during the sessions are expected to focus on strengthening delivery systems and ensuring that welfare schemes have a measurable impact on the ground.
Governor Mangubhai Patel also highlighted the importance of proper planning and regular monitoring to ensure effective implementation of schemes. He said coordinated efforts between departments are essential to ensure that development reaches even the most remote tribal areas.
The RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management, a premier training institute for administrative officers in the state, is hosting the workshop and facilitating policy discussions and capacity-building efforts.
The workshop aims to improve the utilisation of Tribal Sub-Plan funds and ensure that government initiatives translate into tangible benefits for tribal communities across Madhya Pradesh.
