UP SHOCKER! Bride's '₹90 Lakhs Or No Wedding Night' Sparks Violence, Case Under Probe

A wedding night in Uttar Pradesh allegedly turned into a nightmare when a bride wanted Rs 90 lakh to remove her veil, resulting in a feud between two families. The groom's family has also accused the bride's relatives of making threats and attempting to harm them. According to various media reports, Muskaan Singh said it all started when her brother married Kalpana in Agra on April 29 of last year. On the first night, the bride demanded Rs 90 lakh from her husband, claiming that she would only raise her veil if the money was paid.

The demand startled the groom's relatives. When the money was not supplied, the bride allegedly stole her valuables and went back to her parents' house.

The groom's family has alleged that the bride's relatives vandalised their property and even damaged a PNG gas pipeline, attempting to set the house on fire with the family members inside. According to a report by LiveHindustan, the bride's family allegedly locked the house from outside and held the family hostage, while attempting to trigger a gas leak that could have led to a deadly explosion. The family members reportedly managed to raise an alarm and escape with the help of neighbours.

The victim's relatives accused the police of inactivity, prompting the case to go to court. Following a judicial order, the police filed a FIR, and additional investigation is continuing.

What started as a disagreement on the wedding night has since evolved into claims of a deadly plot. The truth will only be revealed once the police inquiry is completed. Police officials have initiated an investigation into the matter and are also searching for the matchmaker who had arranged the marriage. Investigators are also examining whether the case could be linked to a pre-emptive dowry complaint angle, even as all allegations remain under probe.
