Russia's Fourth-Largest Oil Refinery Halts Operations After Ukrainian Drone Attacks CCD

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, reported this on Telegram.

"In Russia, the fourth-largest refinery has stopped due to drone attacks," Kovalenko said.

He added that the refinery in question is Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez, which is capable of processing around 320,000 barrels per day.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez refinery in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, on the night of April 5.

The Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez plant is considered a strategically important facility for Russia. It supplies fuel not only to its armed forces but also to the critically important Moscow region, accounting for nearly 30% of Russia's total gasoline consumption.

The refinery has a processing capacity of 17 million tons of crude per year. It produces more than 50 types of products, including aviation fuel and diesel used by Russia's military-industrial complex and its invading forces.
