Ministry To Begin Maintenance Project For 11 Roads In Jordan's Central Region
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, April 2 (Petra) – Ministry of Public Works and Housing is scheduled to begin maintenance work on Muwaqqar-Azraq Highway next Saturday, as part of the central tender for refurbishing a group of main roads in the Kingdom's Central Region.
This step reflects the ministry's policy to raising "efficiency of the Kingdom's vital" road network and keeping pace with urban expansion and economic growth.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry added that the project comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure, which will contribute to reducing traffic congestion, enhancing public safety levels, and facilitating movement between different areas.
Funded by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the ministry indicated that the tender period is 300 working days, with an estimated cost of approximately JD5.9 million.
The ministry noted the project covers a number of "vital" roads in the Kingdom's Central Region that have experienced a decline in their technical condition due to "high" traffic loads and rapid urban development in the respective areas.
