Trump Announces Progress Toward Completing US Goals in Iran

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that American forces are approaching the fulfillment of their primary military aims in Iran.

"Tonight, I'm pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion," he said during a national address focused on Operation Epic Fury.

Reflecting on the past month, Trump stated that US troops have secured "swift, decisive, overwhelming victories." He emphasized that the campaign would persist until all intended goals are met, adding: "I've made clear from the beginning of Operation Epic Fury that we will continue until our objectives are fully achieved. Thanks to the progress we've made, I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly, very shortly.

"We're going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong," he said.

According to reports, tensions in the region have intensified since Feb. 28, when the United States and Israel initiated a coordinated military offensive against Iran. The strikes have reportedly resulted in more than 1,340 deaths, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has launched a series of drone and missile attacks aimed at Israel as well as Gulf nations hosting American military bases.

As stated by reports, 13 US service members have been killed and approximately 303 others wounded since the start of the operation.

Trump also paid tribute to the fallen troops, saying they "who have laid down their lives in this fight."
