Priyanka Chopra Returns To Oscars Stage As Presenter At 2026 Academy Awards

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A decade after she first walked onto the Oscars stage, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is heading back to Hollywood's biggest night, but this time as one of the presenters at the 98th Academy Awards, set to take place on March 15, 2026.

The global star confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a post about“The 2026 Academy Awards”, signalling her return to the coveted stage after first presenting at the ceremony in 2016.

The ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood and will air live on ABC at 7pm ET (4am GST on March 16). Comedian Conan O'Brien returns as host for the second consecutive year.

This year's nominations are led by Sinners, which has earned a record-breaking 16 nominations, surpassing milestones previously set by films such as Titanic and La La Land.

Joining a star-studded presenter lineup

Chopra forms part of the third slate of presenters announced by the Academy on March 5. The lineup places her alongside a cluster of Hollywood A-listers including Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Paul Mescal and Will Arnett.

Other presenters confirmed so far include Adrien Brody, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Maya Rudolph and Zoe Saldaña, creating one of the ceremony's most stacked presenter rosters in recent years.

For Chopra, the appearance marks a return to a stage she has visited before. She first presented at the 2016 Academy Awards and attended the ceremony again in 2017 during the early phase of her Hollywood crossover.

Since then, the Oscars stage has also seen other Indian stars step into the spotlight, most notably Deepika Padukone, who presented in 2023 during the historic win of RRR's song 'Naatu Naatu'.

A decade of expanding global presence

Chopra's return to the Oscars comes at a moment when her international career continues to expand across both film and streaming.

Her recent action thriller The Bluff climbed the charts on Amazon Prime Video, while her upcoming slate includes Citadel Season 2 and her Telugu-language debut in SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, slated for release on April 7, 2027, opposite Mahesh Babu.

She also appeared on another major awards stage earlier this year, presenting at the 2026 Golden Globes alongside K-pop artist Lisa.

What this moment means for Indian talent

Beyond a single presenter slot, Chopra's return to the Oscars reflects a broader shift in how Indian talent is perceived within the global entertainment industry.

When she first presented at the 2016 Academy Awards, media coverage frequently framed her as the only visible Indian representative on stage that year. Her appearance in 2026, however, arrives after a decade that has repeatedly pushed Indian stories into the centre of awards conversations.

Wins such as RRR's Naatu Naatu and the documentary The Elephant Whisperers have helped turn 'Indian at the Oscars' from a rare headline into an expected part of awards season.

More importantly, Chopra's inclusion today comes not as a token gesture but as part of a packed presenter slate of global A-listers, signalling that Indian stardom now sits comfortably within Hollywood's mainstream ecosystem.
