UAE Denounces Iran's Attempt to Strike Türkiye
(MENAFN) The UAE has issued a sharp condemnation of an attempted Iranian ballistic missile launch directed at Türkiye, describing the move as a dangerous provocation and a breach of national sovereignty.
In an official statement released Thursday, the UAE Foreign Ministry characterized such acts as a "serious escalation, a flagrant violation of state sovereignty, and a direct threat to regional security and stability."
Abu Dhabi further warned that the "expansion of attacks to additional countries is unacceptable and condemned under all legal and political norms, and constitutes a serious escalation that undermines de-escalation efforts and heightens regional tensions."
The condemnation follows a disclosure by Ankara on Wednesday, in which the Turkish National Defense Ministry confirmed that a ballistic munition launched from Iranian territory and aimed at Turkish airspace had been successfully intercepted and neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems operating in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The incident marks a significant flashpoint in an already volatile region, with the attempted strike drawing swift diplomatic backlash and raising urgent questions over Iran's intentions toward neighboring states.
