One Plus One Communications Hires Government Relations Lead

WELLINGTON - Independent communications agency One Plus One Communications, has appointed Esther Robinson as its new director of government relations, marking the agency's arrival in Wellington and the launch of a dedicated government relations offering.
The move represents a strategic milestone for One Plus One, which has seen growth and a growing demand for services in the capital, it said in a statement. By establishing a formal Wellington presence, the agency aims to provide its diverse client base with greater connection to the parliamentary precinct and high-level strategic counsel on regulatory and public policy matters.
Robinson has more than a decade of experience in government relations and public affairs across politics, communications, and corporate advisory roles. She was previously a senior political advisor during the Sixth and Fifth Labour Governments. In addition, she brings with her a poised consulting skillset, most recently via Acumen.
In her own time, Robinson co-hosts 3 Gals 1 Beehive, an independent political podcast anchored by former Beehive staffers, providing weekly analysis of developments in New Zealand politics.
“Esther's appointment is a significant step forward for One Plus One. Our clients are increasingly operating in environments shaped by policy. Having senior, Wellington-based expertise allows us to contribute and operate more effectively where decisions are made," said Kelly Bennett, managing director of One Plus One Communications.
In her new role, Robinson will establish and lead the dedicated government relations practice, working across new and existing clients spanning professional services, finance, technology and other sectors.
