Trump Urges Iranians to Rise Up Amid Claims of Military Surrenders
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump once again calls on Iranians to take action against their government, asserting that Iranian military leaders are surrendering and seeking immunity, according to statements cited by reports.
In a video shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump says:
"I call upon all Iranian patriots who yearn for freedom to seize this moment, be brave, be bold, be heroic and take back your country."
He adds, "America is with you. I made a promise to you and I fulfilled that promise. The rest will be up to you."
Trump claims that the country’s military command structure has effectively collapsed, with officials reportedly "calling by the thousands" to request immunity. He urges Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as military and police forces, to lay down arms and accept protection "or face certain death."
He emphasizes that combat operations "continue at this time in full force, and they will continue until all of our objectives are achieved," framing the campaign as essential to preventing a nuclear-armed Iran from threatening the United States, even though Tehran maintains it does not pursue nuclear weapons.
Trump warns that an Iran equipped with long-range missiles and nuclear capabilities would represent a "dire threat to every American," describing Tehran as the world’s "number one state sponsor of terror."
The ongoing military campaign, dubbed "Operation Epic Fury" and launched on Saturday, has killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Initial reports indicate that three US service members have died and five others sustained serious injuries during Tehran’s retaliatory attacks.
