Dubai Games 2026 Heats Up As Teams Battle High-Intensity Challenges On Day 2

Volunteers, teachers, and students played a vital role at the Games, showcasing teamwork, dedication, and community spirit

UAE government entities, schools, companies, and community groups competed in high-intensity challenges at the Dubai Games 2026, held from February 12 to 15 at Dubai Festival City.

On the second day, the Men's Battle of the Government and the Battle of the Community took place. Athletes faced seven new obstacles that challenged their teamwork, focus, and speed. After the heats, Ajman Government, Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, and the Department of Digital Ajman reached the Men's Battle of the Government finals. In the community category, Ajman Stud, F3, NAS, and AJ made it to the finals, showing strong planning, coordination, and resilience.

For many, the Games mean more than just winning. Ashraf Al Farshishi, a physical education teacher from the Ministry of Education who competed with his team, said,“Thanks to God, we have trained together for a while and are used to each other. Some players have participated in more than one edition. Today we gave our maximum effort and performed heroically."

He added,“The team finished among the top ten, and the differences between teams were very small. It is an honour to represent the Ministry of Education. My role will not be limited to playing; on Sunday, I will return as a coach for my students. I will share my experience with them, and God willing, they will perform excellently."

Dr Ali Al Alawi from Rashid Bin Humaid School in Ajman spoke about the value of preparation and teamwork:“Last year, the junior team achieved third place for the first time under the supervision of the school and the Ministry of Education. The atmosphere was wonderful, with prior training and clear coordination between the school and the ministry. We are now ready and wish everyone success.”

Companies also brought a new aspect to the Games. Ryan Muldoon, Chief Operations Officer of Unilabs Middle East, said,“Participating in Dubai Games provides an opportunity to engage with the health-conscious community and strengthen our presence among this audience.”

Volunteers played a key role in making the tournament a success. Mohammed Yahli, volunteer coordinator, said,“Thanks to God, this is our seventh consecutive year supporting this tournament. Volunteers play a very important role, and we are proud to be part of an event that carries the name of Dubai and the UAE. We hope everyone will take the initiative to volunteer in such large-scale tournaments that have now reached a global level.”

Italian-Argentine soprano Aida Busti brought an international touch by attending for the seventh year in a row. She described the tournament as global model:“Dubai Games is a unique global model that combines sport, teamwork, and cultural diversity. What makes it special is the wide international participation, professional organisation, and high level of challenge. The event is not just a sporting competition; it reflects Dubai's values of ambition, teamwork, and openness.”

Busti, who follows a strict fitness routine, added,“I practice physical exercises and ballet three to four times a week to stay in shape and support my voice. Preparing for any operatic role can take three to four months. A performer never stops learning, and I have performed 13 different roles during my career.”
