KP Leads In Missing Persons Cases As Authorities Trace 1,804 Individuals
According to official documents, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported the highest number of missing persons cases so far, with 3,730 cases recorded. Of these, 2,760 cases have been resolved, while 970 cases are still under investigation.
The documents state that 1,804 missing persons have been traced in the province, of whom 707 have been safely returned home.
Additionally, 861 missing persons were found in internment centers, while 148 are in various jails. The report also notes that 88 bodies of missing persons have been recovered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to official figures, the total number of missing persons cases across the country has reached 10,806. By January 2026, 9,259 cases had been resolved, while 1,547 cases are still under investigation.

By province, 1,794 missing persons cases were reported in Punjab, of which 1,583 have been resolved and 211 are under investigation. In Sindh, 1,868 cases were reported, with 1,723 resolved and 145 still pending.
In Balochistan, 2,917 cases were reported, of which 2,750 have been resolved and 167 remain under investigation. In Islamabad, 416 cases were reported, with 372 resolved and 44 pending.
Similarly, 71 cases were reported in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, of which 61 have been resolved and 10 are under investigation. In Gilgit-Baltistan, all 10 reported missing persons cases have been resolved.
