Türkiye’s Annual Inflation Rate Dips to 30.65 Percent


(MENAFN) Türkiye's annual inflation rate declined to 30.65% in January, down from December's 30.89%, extending a streak of four straight months of easing price pressures.

The Turkish Statistical Institute released official figures Tuesday revealing that inflation has decreased steadily over the past 20 months, with only a single month breaking the trend.

January's reading represents the smallest consumer price surge Türkiye has experienced since November 2021, when inflation registered 21.31%.

Education costs dominated annual price increases in January, skyrocketing 64.7%. Housing expenses climbed 45.36%, while hotels, cafes and restaurants posted gains of 33.31%.

Clothing and footwear recorded the most modest increases at 7.07%. Communications followed at 20.09%, with health costs rising 21.63%.

Consumer prices advanced 4.84% on a month-over-month basis in January.
