Zelensky Meets With Tsikhanouskaya In Vilnius
"On behalf of Belarusians, I expressed full solidarity with the Ukrainian people fighting for freedom and deep respect for President Zelensky's exceptional leadership," Tsikhanouskaya wrote.
She said that during the meeting the sides discussed Belarusians who support Ukraine, volunteers, activists, and partisans imprisoned for solidarity, as well as the situation of Belarusian volunteers who are in captivity and Belarusians living in Ukraine.
"I thanked President Zelensky and his team for accepting the latest group of released Belarusian political prisoners," Tsikhanouskaya wrote.
According to her, the meeting also discussed further steps on releases, sanctions, accountability of Belarus self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenko and his accomplices, as well as a joint strategy with European, American, and other democratic partners.
She expressed gratitude to Zelensky for his "powerful words" during the commemoration of the participants of the January Uprising of 1863, for Ukraine's clear support for a democratic Belarus, and for distinguishing between the Belarusian people and the Lukashenko regime.
