Speaking on the occasion, Indian Consul General Satish Sivan said "bilateral relations reached new heights" between India and UAE as President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the South Asian nation last week.
"On behalf of the people of India, I express our deepest gratitude to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates for their unstinting support and friendship," he said.
During Sheikh Mohamed's visit, the two countries signed various agreements which reflect shared ambitions, focused on "co-creating a future shaped by innovation, resilience and mutual prosperity," he added:
- Landmark 10 year LNG supply agreement
Letters of intent and agreements on defence collaboration, space technology cooperation and infrastructure investment. Digital infrastructure partnerships discussions, including the exploration of“digital embassies” and secure data cooperation
In 2025 to 2026, bilateral trade between India and UAE surpassed $100 billion, with both nations agreeing to double trade volume to $200 billion by 2032, Sivan added.
But the UAE-India relation is not just about deals and numbers. Sivan spoke of the "vast and vibrant" Indian diaspora who "contribute to every facet of life" in UAE as educators, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and diverse professionals.
