(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Given the increase in visitors to beaches and coastal areas during this season, the Air and Naval Service maintains an active and permanent presence as part of Operation Safe Summer 2026, a preventative operation that began in early January and will remain in effect until the end of summer. The Naval Air Service participates in inter-institutional support, reinforcing security, prevention and timely response actions, with the aim of reducing aquatic incidents and guaranteeing the protection of nationals and tourists.“Following these preventative actions, no unfortunate incidents have been recorded in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Naval Air Service during the course of the operation,” the statement from the entity noted.

As part of this effort, properly trained lifeguard personnel have been deployed, trained to act immediately in the event of any emergency in the water, maintaining constant surveillance in the areas with the highest concentration of visitors. The operational coverage includes strategic points such as: Taboga, Contadora, Ermita de San Carlos, La Ensenada, Santa Clara, Playa El Uverito, Playa Arrimadero, Las Lajas, Barqueta and Estero Rico, where lifeguards safeguard the lives of bathers. The public is also urged to maintain responsible behaviors, such as staying hydrated, using sunscreen, avoiding direct sun exposure between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, not entering rivers or beaches under the influence of alcohol, respecting safety flag signals, and supervising minors at all times.
