Chinese Envoy Holds Talks with Venezuela’s Maduro

(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping’s envoy held talks with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro in Caracas on Friday, just hours before the United States launched a regime-change operation in the resource-rich South American nation.

Qiu Xiaoqi, serving as the Special Representative for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, headed the Chinese delegation, which also included Venezuela’s Ambassador Lan Hu and other senior officials.

“I am very happy to greet you. Thank you, and thank President Xi Jinping for his brotherhood and his message as a strong leader for the world,” Maduro declared during the meeting, accompanied by Oil Minister and Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.

According to the Venezuelan government, the meeting aimed to “consolidate the new multipolar world order.” Officials highlighted the “unwavering” bond between Caracas and Beijing, particularly in resisting “unilateral coercive measures” and advancing “sovereign development” for nations across the Global South.

Although Beijing has not yet issued its official summary of the talks, Caracas reported that Qiu Xiaoqi stressed China and Venezuela are “strategic partners to the test,” describing their cooperation as a significant opportunity for the People’s Republic.

This demonstration of Chinese support comes shortly after Russia denounced US actions in the region, reaffirming its solidarity with Venezuela as the country confronts a naval blockade in the Caribbean.
