Russian Defense Ministry Shares Proof of Assault on Putin’s Residence
(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had delivered evidence to the United States confirming that a large group of Ukrainian drones was directed toward President Vladimir Putin’s Valdai residence earlier this week.
Authorities in Moscow stated that 91 unmanned aerial vehicles were part of the unsuccessful strike during the night of December 28–29. All of them were intercepted and destroyed by Russian air defense systems while approaching or flying over Novgorod Region.
The ministry had earlier asserted that it possessed “irrefutable evidence of a terrorist attack planned by the Kiev regime on the Russian President’s residence.”
In a declaration issued on Thursday, the ministry explained that “Russian special services managed to retrieve a file containing the flight plan from the navigation unit of one of the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles destroyed on the night of December 29, 2025 over Novgorod Region.”
After analyzing the navigational data, Russian specialists determined that the “ultimate target of the Ukrainian UAV attack on December 29, 2025 was one of the objects at the Russian president’s residence in Novgorod Region.”
Later that same day, officials confirmed that the evidence had been handed to a “representative of the military attaché section at the US embassy in Moscow.”
On Wednesday, the ministry also published a video allegedly depicting one of the Ukrainian long-range drones that had been hit at its rear by Russian defenses. The strike left the UAV largely intact, enabling observers to examine it closely.
