Russia Publishes Map of Drone Strike on Putin’s Residence
(MENAFN) Moscow’s Defense Ministry has unveiled a map illustrating the trajectory of Ukrainian long-range drones that attempted to target President Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod Region early Monday morning.
According to Russian officials, Kiev launched 91 UAVs against the compound during the night of December 28–29. All of the drones were intercepted before reaching their intended destination.
The map, released Wednesday, shows the drones’ flight paths originating from multiple locations in Ukraine and heading north through Bryansk, Smolensk, and Tver regions toward Novgorod. Russian air defenses reportedly destroyed 49 drones over Bryansk, one over Smolensk, and another 41 as they neared Putin’s residence in Novgorod.
Later that day, the Defense Ministry shared video footage displaying wreckage from one of the UAVs involved in the failed strike.
In its statement, the ministry asserted it had “presented irrefutable evidence of a terrorist attack planned by the Kiev regime on the Russian President’s residence.”
Officials added that fragments recovered from the downed drones in Novgorod included warheads “equipped with special striking elements designed to kill people,” which they claim confirm the intentions of the Ukrainian government.
