Israeli Troops Raid Syria’s Quneitra Again

(MENAFN) Military convoys penetrated southern Syria's Quneitra region Saturday, marking another breach of territorial sovereignty, according to local reporting.

A convoy comprising five armored vehicles crossed into Ain al-Qadi village through the Abu Rajm border point and conducted a residential search operation, a Syrian news agency confirmed. Authorities reported no detentions during the incursion.

The operation followed an earlier Saturday deployment when eight military vehicles—four Hilux trucks and four armored Hummers—pushed into Bariqa village, also located in Quneitra's southern sector.

Israeli military operations inside Syria have intensified despite Damascus presenting no active security threat. Repeated cross-border actions have included aerial bombardments that claimed civilian casualties while obliterating military installations, transport assets, weaponry, and munitions stockpiles.

Tel Aviv's military footprint in Syrian territory expanded dramatically following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's government in late 2024. Israeli forces subsequently occupied the demilitarized buffer zone within the Syrian Golan Heights, contravening the 1974 disengagement accord between the two nations.
