Zelensky: US Proposes Trilateral Meeting Of Security Advisors From Ukraine, US, And Russia

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a conversation with journalists, according to Ukrinform.

“As for Umerov [National Security and Defense Council], he called me and said that the US is now proposing a trilateral meeting of NSA [national security advisors] between the US, Ukraine, and Russia,” he said.

Zelensky expressed doubts that the meeting could add anything new.

"We had meetings in Turkey in this format, although there was a result - and that was exchanges. I believe that this is not much of what we wanted, but it is very important. And I am very glad that we had such exchanges, that our soldiers and civilians returned home," he said.

At the same time, the President stressed that if the NSA-level meeting results in agreements on exchanges or a trilateral meeting at the leadership level, he supports the US proposal.

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 19, a Ukrainian delegation led by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov began another round of negotiations in the United States.
