Elaraby Ends Toshiba Partnership, Announces Nearly $500M In New Home Appliance Investments
The new partnerships include Japan's Sharp and Hitachi, Italy's La Germania and Hoover, and China's TCL, alongside ElAraby Group's own brands: Egypt's Tornado, Japan's Kajitsu and Germany's Heller.
ElAraby explained that ending its contracts with Toshiba in the home appliances and television sectors is part of the natural evolution of the global business landscape and reflects the Group's restructuring of its international partnerships.
The company affirmed its full commitment to maintaining after-sales services for all products sold under ElAraby's warranty, stressing that its dedication to customer service remains unchanged regardless of partnership changes or investment strategies.
The Group emphasised that its success over more than six decades has never been dependent on a single brand. It highlighted the establishment of the largest research and development centre in the Middle East-with investments exceeding EGP 3bn-dedicated to designing and developing home appliances and electronics for both domestic manufacturers and major global brands.
ElAraby noted that its growth in recent years, both in local industrial expansion and in forging new international partnerships, includes major agreements and projects approaching $500m in home appliance manufacturing. These partnerships involve leading global companies such as Sharp (Japan), La Germania and Hoover (Italy), Heller (Germany), Hitachi (Japan) and TCL (China).
The Group has also strengthened its position in supporting industries through partnerships with Rechi (Taiwan)-one of the world's largest compressor manufacturers-Toyouchi (Japan) for glass production, Shin Steel (South Korea) for steel cutting and processing, NIX (South Korea) for refrigerator and home freezer evaporators, and Core for the manufacturing and assembly of washing machine motors.
These initiatives aim to serve both local and international markets with competitive, high-quality products, the Group said.
