Awqaf Studies Center Releases Sixth Issue Of Al-Waqf Journal
Doha, Qatar: The Awqaf Studies Center at the General Directorate of Awqaf, under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, has released the sixth issue of its peer-reviewed international academic journal Al-Waqf.
The new edition aligns with contemporary priorities such as sustainability and artificial intelligence, reinforcing the journal's role as a scientific platform for decision-makers, specialists, and researchers in the waqf (endowment) sector.
Al-Waqf is dedicated to publishing high-quality research in waqf studies, Islamic economics, finance, and charitable work. The journal provides scholars and practitioners with opportunities to referee and publish their academic output in both Arabic and English, while promoting knowledge dissemination through print and digital editions and enriching scholarly debate in the field.
The sixth issue features a set of advanced studies with direct practical impact on waqf operations. Among the highlighted research is a study on liquidity management in waqf institutions and its role in enhancing financial sustainability. Another study examines the contribution of waqf to addressing food supply chain challenges by establishing stable and sustainable financing mechanisms to respond effectively to humanitarian crises and disasters.
Dr. Khalid Al-Awn, Head of the Awqaf Studies Center, stated that the journal's research focuses on two main pillars: the vital role of waqf in supporting scientific, food, and agricultural institutions, and the contribution of waqf resources to addressing key challenges in these sectors.
The second pillar highlights how waqf can keep pace with modern technologies and artificial intelligence.
