Indiaitaly Business Forum Marks Major Push For Bilateral Economic Cooperation

(MENAFN- KNN India) Mumbai, Dec 12 (KNN) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal chaired the India–Italy Business Forum with Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani.

This marked a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral economic ties and expanding industrial cooperation between the two nations.

High-Level Bilateral Talks on Trade and Technology

The discussions focused on enhancing trade, improving supply chain resilience, and accelerating partnerships in clean mobility, green energy, advanced manufacturing, and food processing.

Both sides emphasised scaling technology collaborations and creating new investment pathways.

Sectoral Discussion and Startup Engagements

The Forum featured discussion on emerging technologies, innovation models, and investment opportunities across automotives, waste-to-energy and renewables, sports technologies and sports textiles, and agri-food.

The Ministers also interacted with leading Indian unicorns to explore cooperation in digital innovation, AI, deeptech, fintech, and industrial technology solutions.

B2B Interactions Held

A large-scale B2B networking session facilitated more than 100 business interactions between Indian and Italian companies in manufacturing, renewables, food processing, sports innovation, and transport systems.

Major MoUs and Industrial Agreements Announced

Several important MoUs were signed at the forum. SIMEST and Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) signed a strategic MoU to enhance support for Italian companies expanding into India, promote bilateral investments, and strengthen economic cooperation through structured business facilitation.

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Italy's Danieli Group concluded agreements for three major steel plant projects. Danieli will supply advanced green technologies. The projects, with capacity of over 4 million tonnes annually, has a contract value of around EUR 500 million.
