The United States Sanctions A Panamanian Businessman Close To Venezuela's Maduro -

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) The United States government has sanctioned Panamanian businessman Ramón Carretero, adding him to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List, also known as the Clinton List, according to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The measure entails freezing his assets under U.S. jurisdiction and restricting him from conducting transactions with U.S. citizens and companies. Carretero, identified by Washington as a contractor and close to the Nicolás Maduro regime, is now part of the group of people and companies sanctioned for alleged links to activities related to the Venezuelan government.

In the same announcement, the US administration added to the list Efraín Antonio Campo Flores and Franqui Francisco Flores de Freitas, nephews of the Venezuelan president, as well as Carlos Erik Malpica Flores, another member of the inner circle of power in Caracas. The OFAC update also includes sanctions against six vessels identified as transporting Venezuelan oil in alleged violation of restrictions previously imposed by Washington.
