Maple Leaf Foods To Pay Special Dividend

Canada's Maple Leaf Foods (MFI) says it will pay a special one-time dividend to shareholders.

The Toronto-based food giant will pay its stockholders a special dividend of $0.60 per share in addition to its regular quarterly distribution.

The special dividend is payable on Dec. 19 to shareholders of record at the close of business on Dec. 15.

The additional dividend is being paid after Maple Leaf Foods successfully spun off its pork operations earlier this year.

In a written statement, Maple Leaf Foods' Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Curtis Frank said the special dividend reflects the company's strong financial position heading into 2026.

Maple Leaf Foods pays a regular quarterly dividend of $0.19 per share, giving the stock a yield of 3%. The company has raised its regular dividend payment for 10 consecutive years.

MFI stock has risen 40% this year to trade at $25.30 per share in Toronto.
