Rs. 300 Mn Contribution From Sri Lanka Cricket To 'Rebuilding Sri Lanka' Initiative

(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a contribution of Rs. 300 million to the government's 'Rebuilding Sri Lanka' initiative, following a decision by its President Shammi Silva and the Executive Committee.

The board said the donation underscores its duty as the country's premier sporting institution, representing a sport deeply rooted in the hearts of Sri Lankans.

According to SLC, the funds are intended to bolster emergency assistance for those affected by Cyclone Ditwa and to help restore disrupted public services, easing the hardships faced by communities in storm-hit regions.

SLC's leadership also affirmed that the organisation remains committed to supporting the country in times of crisis and will continue to stand by national recovery efforts as needed.
