My primary research interest is life writing in its many forms, including autobiography and biography, with a focus on South Africa.
From the University of Natal, I have a BA Hons (English), a PG teaching qualification (the Higher Diploma in Education) and the PhD. From Syracuse University, USA, I was awarded an MA in English. More recently, I was awarded a CELTA (teaching English to ESOL students) and a PG Certificate in Education from Canterbury University, New Zealand.
