Girls' School In Dera Ismail Khan Left Unstaffed As Students Return Home Disappointed

A girls' educational institution in Dera Ismail Khan's Tehsil Paniala witnessed serious administrative negligence on Tuesday morning when neither the chowkidar nor any teaching staff arrived on time at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, leaving dozens of students waiting outside.

Residents alleged that by 8:10am the school gate was still locked, and no member of the staff had reached the premises. The students, who had gathered in the hope that classes would start, eventually returned home in frustration.

Parents and area residents said staff shortages have become a persistent problem at the school. They claimed that teachers often fail to show up, severely affecting the education of the girls. Students also staged a brief protest, saying they should not be deprived of their right to education due to the administration's negligence.

Parents have appealed to the Director Education, District Education Officer, Deputy Commissioner DI Khan, and Assistant Commissioner Paharpur to take immediate notice. They added that several attempts to contact the District Education Officer went unanswered.

Taking notice of the situation, Assistant Commissioner Subdivision Paharpur Dr. Muhammad Hameed Siddiq issued a notification to the DEO, noting that the girls' school was operating without a chowkidar and support staff, which was compromising security and affecting routine operations.
The Assistant Commissioner directed the DEO to visit the school at the earliest and take prompt measures to address the staff shortage, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for the students.
