(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20.​ Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Türkiye, General Metin Tokel, welcoming him with the highest military honors during his official visit aimed at deepening military ties between the two countries, Trend reports via the Bosnian Defense Ministry.

On behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, the high-ranking guest was welcomed by the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, Major General Mirsad Ahmić, and the Commander of the Operational Command of the BiH Armed Forces, Major General Mirzet Lubenović, together with the chiefs of directorates in the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of improving and further strengthening cooperation between the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Türkiye.

The participants reaffirmed Türkiye's strong support for strengthening the capacities of the BiH Armed Forces, especially in the areas of training, equipment, and modernization.

The Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH expressed their gratitude to the Republic of Türkiye for its continuous and long-standing support, and stated that they will continue working on enhancing bilateral military cooperation in the interest of developing and strengthening the stability and security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
